Installation Instructions
|
Concrete Slab Installation
|
| Break through concrete floor with a sledge hammer or a drill--chip hole to
desired size (about 3 inches around the entire safe). Dig out underneath
the floor as illustrated to about 3 inches
below the floor. The more reinforced concrete that can be placed
around safe, the greater the security. Partially fill hole with concrete
mixture, set safe in adjust to desired position. Fill remaining hole
with concrete mixture, then finish off level with floor. Make sure top
of the safe is kept level with finished floor. |

Wood Floor Installation
|
|
Build a retaining form of wood or a basket made with mesh wire lined with
roofing paper and attach to joist--- between the floor and ground. When
using a wood form be sure and remove wood to prevent termites from
traveling into building. Cut a hole in floor, set safe and finish off
with cement flush with top of floor. |

Additional Notes:
|
| Installation In a New Foundation:
Dig Out ground to provide a form as show for cement floor installation,
put safe in position in live concrete in hole and adjust safe to floor
level. We usually set a brick under the safe to provide some stability. When safe is locked securely by setting up of cement, fill
remaining hole and finish. Concrete Mixture: Use 1 part cement - 2 parts
sand, 4 parts 3/4-inch rock, mix thorough with water to desired
consistency. When pouring into calling, the drier the mixture is, the
better. Seal the Safe Door with masking tape in such a way as
to prevent cement from seeping between the door and body, thus cementing
in the door. Make sure that no water or dirt enters the door or safe
cavity. If safe is placed where water might run into it, raise
safe at least one inch from floor level and bevel off even with floor,
or leave protruded, if desired. All papers & currency should be wrapped
in plastic for protection against water or flood. Also recommended is
installing a vapor barrier or applying a coat of roofing tar to the
safe prior to installation.
